Savory, sweet, and tangy balsamic-glazed chicken thighs with garlic and herbs. A moist, caramelized main dish that pairs well with roasted vegetables or rice. Restaurant-quality flavor achieved through searing and reduction.

  • Total Time: 50
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 bone-in chicken thighs, skin-on
1 cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons honey
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat
Sear chicken thighs skin-side down until golden, 4-5 minutes; flip and sear other side 2-3 minutes
Sprinkle thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper over the chicken
Pour balsamic vinegar and honey into the skillet; deglaze by swirling to loosen browned bits
Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through
Uncover and increase heat to medium-high; reduce glaze until thick and glossy, 3-5 minutes

Notes

Bone-in thighs stay moist during cooking
Use a heavy skillet with a lid for even results
Thighs can be broiled briefly at end for extra glaze
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days
